Next Recruit Night

The next recruit night is next year on Friday the 11th February 2022 at 1900 hrs (7:00pm)


Three Steps -
(a) Confirm you are eligible to enrol (see below)
(b) Apply online with an Expression of Interest (optional) via

(c) The prospective teenager AND at least one parent/guardian MUST attend the Recruit Night in order to complete the enrolment process (Compulsory).

Is the AAFC right for you?

  • Are you between 12 and 16 years old?
  • Do you want to learn about aviation, fieldcraft, adventure training, teamwork and effective communication skills?
  • Do you want to develop your leadership skills, self reliance and confidence?
  • Do you want to make life long friends?
  • If yes, then you will have a great time in the AAFC (Australian Air Force Cadets) from the time you enrol until 31st December in the year of your 18th birthday.

    Where are we?

    303 Squadron is based at Defence Establishment, Building 1, Camden Airport. It is located on Aerodrome Road, Cobbitty.

    Eligibility for Enrolment in the Australian Air Force Cadets (AAFC):

    A volunteer for acceptance as a Cadet in the Australian Air Force Cadets must:
    a. be at least 13yo at date of enrolment;
    b. not attained the age of 16 years;
    c. have parental or guardian permission to volunteer as a Cadet in the AAFC;
    d. be a person ordinarily resident in Australia (ie- attend local school, live in Australia with appropriate residency - not a temporary visa, born in Australia)
    e. present to their CO a statement signed by their parent or guardian stating the applicant has the physical capability to participate in AAFC program and identify any known limitations (including allergies) to assist the CO determine suitability for acceptance - this form is provided in the application package made available at the Recruit Intake Night at 303 Squadron AAFC.
    If required, the candidate must undergo a medical examination at parent/guardian expense;.
    f. provide written parental or guardian permission for a qualified medical practitioner to anaesthetise and operate on the cadet in an emergency;
    g. not be a member of either the Australian Navy Cadets (ANC) or the Australian Army Cadets (AAC), unless such membership is compulsory;
    h. not be a Defence member; and
    i. make a commitment in writing that they have read and agree to abide by the Australian Defence Force Cadets (ADFC) Youth Values and Code of Conduct Statement. This statement is provided in the application package made available at the Recruit Intake Night at 303 Squadron AAFC.
